Full Description
Level 2 picks up where Level 1 left off, introducing new keys, scales and chords while helping you play with more freedom and expression. Each course builds on the last, so you’ll keep moving forward at a comfortable pace.
You’ll start by mastering four new keys: Bb major, G minor, D major and B minor. Each key comes with its own original tune in a different style, so you’ll jam on chords in a jazzy tune, groove to a funky blues, play a bouncy blues shuffle and add Latin flair with a calypso-style left hand. Then you’ll take a break from keys to explore the creative side of piano. You’ll learn which scales to use when improvising over major and minor chords, train your ear to hear the difference between major and minor chords in familiar songs, and pick up essential pedal techniques to make your playing sound smooth and polished.
To finish the track, you’ll explore four more keys: Eb major, C minor, A major and F# minor. These come with a high-energy boogie-woogie, a cool jazz swing tune, a classic rock and roll song and an eerie, haunting melody. In every key course, you’ll also learn to smooth out your chord changes, play along with a band and accompany other musicians. By the end of Level 2, you’ll have a growing collection of songs in a variety of styles, plus the skills to improvise, listen closely and play with confidence.
