Fabulous
Nice work team PWJ
Challenging but fun "eventually" 🤣
Great course that brought some great new challenges that stumped me for ages but well worth it when revisited weeks later. The format is great too as it builds more memory.
Well organized and fun!
This is quite challenging for me. However, the way the lessons are layered is extremely helpful. I’m still having trouble playing with the backtracking but I plan to keep at it, Great lessons! Thank you!
Great course with some fun challenges
Enjoyed how this scale was illustrated using the different groove patterns and chord progressions! Great course!
Fabulous
I love how the course is structured. One step at a time. i learnt a new skill, how to slide the notes from the beginning of the course and its variations. I could play it well (in root position) but when it comes to Chord Inversions , its another ball-game. Had to go really slow to master it because it does help to transfer chords faster and smoother with minimum jumps. As this is my 1st course since joining PWJ, am excited to see what are ahead.
Fun!
I like it!
Fun and humbling experience
Great course! I had a blast (mostly) with this first lesson. I loved the step-by-step layered structure. I found that immensely helpful. However, I was shocked at how difficult time I had of it when trying to keep up with the backing track. This looks simple, but I found it was not. I had to go very slow, measure by measure, trying my best not to go too fast. Sometimes it was a struggle; I was impatient. But, I realized (again) that old adage that you have to walk before you can run. And, interestingly, the slower and more mindful I went, the more quickly I could increase my speed. So, to go fast, you have to go slow. Go figure! So I'll keep trying to do that.

challenging and many new things!
really enjoyed it! the way you smoothly built up layers that made me feel comofrtable and at the same time challenged!
New scale new challenge
Every scale has a new skill to master. Fun and challenging. Fingers are always learning new things.
Very satisfied
This was my very first course at Piano With Jonny, and Im very satisfied. I really want to improve my playing.
Fun and challenging
Yes, challenging. It looks like an easy groove, but really I had to repeat many, many times the right hand to get the slide notes in place and being able to play it with the left hand. I am surprised how I had to work on it. The left hand was easy for me. At least, I am at ease with my 5th chords.
Hard but fun.
I really like your method of teaching.
Fun
It was fun to learn a new scale with a funny song and leave the C/G scales for a while!
Good Overview of Bb Major Key
This was a good review of the key of Bb with scales, chords, progressions, and inversions. PWJ Avenue was a fun song too. I liked the suggestion of starting with the 4th finger in the right hand on the scale. I had always did it with the 2nd finger, but with multiple octaves it will always repeat on the 4th finger.
Loved to grooves
Loads of fun for learning this key. Reinforcing the same concepts with further grooves, patterns and tips. Plus loved the little improv scale
Well explained
Enjoyed step by step revision of the key of B flat major. Found the backing track just a little too fast for some of it. I downloaded the backing track but it does not seem to have the capability to vary the tempo so that I can gradually build up the speed while playing along with it.
Thorough
Enjoyed completing this course in Bb Major. I had been avoiding the flat keys (not sure why... I am happy to play B Major and F# Major). This course was thorough in taking me through the scales, chords and inversions and I'm now feeling comfortable with Bb Major. Very happy.
This course is great! Learning something fun and doing it with both hands while learning multiple ways to play.
Fun stuff. This was my first course and I am very pleased!
awesome course
I like the course structure. It arranged in very easy manner. i never thought that it was like that. You can track ur progress in piano path. Very nice awesome.
That was a lot of fun. Really catchy tune and loved the 5 note improv.
Easy enough yet challenging. Especially the last accompaniment lesson. I recorded the melody and then played accompaniment over the top which was really challenging but did get to 120 bpm. I never could get to where I could sing over the accompaniment it correctly.
Informative, Fun and Inspiring
The pace of the courses was great. Each time adding new theory and skills. I felt that learning the key and the techniques was an important step on piano journey.
good method to understand scales
I liked how we learned the fingering for the scale and then learned chords. Also using the lead sheet idea to develop an understanding of the chords and moving between them is a great way to improve technique.
Challenging
i enjoyed the B sharp major even tough it's challenging with the scale fingering
Fun and informative
How complex things become simple by taking them step by step.
Just the right amount of challenge. Enough to keep it interesting.
I actually felt like I was playing a song. Next level is to make music but, that is in the hands of the student.
Scary, but eventually I was proud of myself
All of it, but the accomplish parts were the hardest, I can do it now but it needs smoothing out
I love the format!!
I love the consistent format, building on layers of complexity and making it so enjoyable from beginning to end. I have finally found a way to learn and practice in a controlled manner, no shortcuts.
Great. Just about the right pace.
Not sure if it’s because I’m on the trial package but it would be useful to be able to see all the sheet music above the keyboards, particularly with Yannick, but otherwise great stuff.
Fun and Useful
This approach makes sense so it is easy to wrap my mind around the concepts, and then much simpler to learn to play the music.
Very Effective
I know the key of B flat major pretty well already, but I really liked getting into inversions and applying those through the use of a catchy tune. The right/left hand syncopation in the final lesson was excellent.
It was good, covered many things but should have been more towards a Bb scale rhythm, there wasn't any Eb in your melody.
Challenging, good and covered quite a number of different points.
So much fun!
I love learning and practising these short grooves. I get a real sense of achievement just being able to quickly learn and loop these 8 bars. They're such a fun and practical way to help me retain theory from lessons regarding rhythms, chord progression etc.
Nice and easy
It’s great to learn how right and left hand can play together with a fun rhythm, while I improve sight-reading, keeping tempo and skills like inversions etc.
WOW!
I got about 70% though Simply Piano's course. It was very helpful at first but eventually I found that it eventually became quite stale and not challenging enough and was not helping me with syncopation. I started here at Level 2 and wow I have already learned so much. I have improved so much with playing with both hands and am super excited that this course is going to teach me a lot about music theory and improvisation. Can't wait!
First lesson
Well explained, slow increments, useful.
Another Excellent Course
It's always more fun to learn a key and associated chords when there is a catchy tune to play at the end. This one is really 'sticky' - have fun getting it out of your head!
Excellent course
This course was very interesting and fun. I enjoyed the teaching method. Very explicit and high quality! Thank you Jonny May, I am improving my skills.
Informative and clear cut
In this course I learned new chords and different techniques that helped me play in a more funky way. Thanks for the amazing lecture

Easy to begin with then challenging
I like the building block approach. Teacher was also very positive and encouraging.
