Have you ever wanted to learn piano accompaniment in a solo setting? Well then this workshop is just for you!

Using the popular jazz standard, “The Way You Look Tonight” by Jerome Kern and Dorothy Fields, I will show you several solo accompanying techniques including playing 2-hand open voicings, 3-note voicings with a bossa groove, and 2-hand voicings with melodic fills. That, coupled with a beautiful intro and ending and you’ll be able to play a complete arrangement of the song by the end of the workshop. Can’t wait to see you there!

Course Objectives
  • Learn the lead sheet melody
  • Embellish with chord shells & rhythmic hits
  • Accompanying 3-note voicings with a bossa groove
  • Add 2-hand voicings with melodic fills
  • Finish with an intro & outro
Learning Focus
  • Accompanying

Fun and challenging indeed
Not specific to this course, but in general, after trying to teach myself for so long it's very helpful to take these courses. The grind is eased by John as he walks through each step. The scroll of sheet music seemed off sync sometimes. Maybe it was me. A+ still. Thanks for great course.
