More than it says on the tin.
Great lessons in passing chords, seems initially a bit complicated for beginner’s level but becomes more straightforward following Jonny’s wonderful teaching and practice. But there’s a lot more on offer in the reharmonization and the jazzy versions of the progressions. I actually get 9 13 chords now. Essential stuff to develop a professional sound. Thanks Jonny.
neurons exploding
I rewatched 20 times and I heard Jonny explain the walk down to F from the A for the elongated 251. A minor/ Aflat Dom/ G m/ tritone then F. I realized I can make my own voicings using that sequence on all 12 keys. Mind blowing when it finally sunk in after 20 viewings.
Great Theory and Application
Well done. Very informative
Passing chords and elongated passing chords 2 5 1
Though I already know some of these concepts, I found useful information that I don’t use much, or just haven’t thought about thoroughly enough to be comfortable with using them in my lead sheet realizations. I especially liked the reminder of elongating by working back through the 5 of 5 of 5, etc. This is a concept I struggled with in college, and, when I started studying some jazz a few years later, it just started to click. I think this course could be of great use to someone who has difficulty with that concept. Love the tritone subs, and this was good to include them in passing chords.
Challenging concepts needed to be implemented.
It was very useful to get on top of the concepts and I will definitely be implementing them in some of the tunes that I am playing. Worthwhile course for greater understanding of the 2-5-1 and tritone substitutes. Thanks Johnny
