Good rhythm lesson
Getting the rhythm to fall in to place took a while, but suddenly it just blended together and I felt a strong sense of accomplishment. Just always need to persevere and sometimes sleep on it.
great class
I'm skilled enough that I don't have to wait and process all the demos so I get my reps in while he is going through all the introduction material. But invariably, there comes a point where the challenge gets challenging, lesson 6; walking bass with syncopated right hand. tough. I appreciate Yannick's encouragement to solidify the muscle memory. Just get it in your fingers!
Making the fundamentals fun
These fundamentals courses are all worth the time - a chance to live in a certain key for a little while, and each one also increases my piano skills. In this case, my hand independence really improved by playing the boogie-woogie left hand pattern against the right-hand melody.
Something for everyone
A lot of material here in just a few lessons - from the basics of the scale to finishing with singing the melody while playing a bass line and comping pattern. And a nice learning structure where practice time is built into watching the lesson. Worth doing even if you already are familiar some of the material (you can fast forward through what you know or watch at a faster speed)
Fun to work through
Have been playing piano for years so surprised at how much I didn’t know. Going back to the beginning has taught me lot, particularly how to analyze a piece of music in relation to its structure. This has helped immensely with other areas of my practice
