Eb major is a warm, full-sounding key that shows up everywhere from jazz standards to rock and roll. In this course, you’ll learn everything you need to play comfortably in Eb. You’ll start with the Eb major scale in each hand, learning the correct fingering and practice strategies to play it smoothly and quickly. Then you’ll take it up and down the keyboard across multiple octaves.

Next, you’ll learn all seven chords that belong to the key of Eb, the main chords you’ll see when you play a song in this key. Then you’ll learn how chords move from one to the next in four of the most common chord progressions (chord patterns). To bring it all together, you’ll learn Boogie Dog Doogie, a fun original tune in the boogie-woogie style, a lively piano tradition that’s sure to get people moving.

Once you’re comfortable, you’ll use inversions to make your chord changes sound smoother and apply them to Boogie Dog Doogie. Then you’ll play it along with a bass and drums backing track, so it feels like you’re rocking out with a band. Finally, you’ll learn simple ways to play chords for someone else to sing or play along to.

Eb Major is a fun key
Love the tones in Eb. Chords have a nice sound. Working on scales, chord inversions, and Boogie Dog Doogie was fun and challenging. Though a fairly simple song, BDD did challenge me, but I stuck with it. Played with backing tracks and had a blast. One more small accomplishment feels good.
A tough one!
Along with the song in the Am key lesson, this one took a bit of time to kind of master it. Coordinating both hands together is not an easy task but does get better with time. Don't despair and keep on practicing, you will eventually get it!
Hot Dog Doogie - I'm Playing Boogie Woogie!!
Really loved this course! Learned the scales and chords of the Key of Eb and a great introduction to the Boogie Woogie piano style. The PWJ original tune - Boogie Dog Doogie is a great coordination exercise between left and right hands and a great way to get familiar with playing in the Key of Eb. Thanks PWJ for another fun original tune and another groove to put in my piano toolbox! Can't wait to master the next key!!

I know this is a contradiction but my new approach is to not take it seriously but have fun and enjoy and be serious 🧐

Eb Major is a fun key
