The importance of mastering fundamentals
While working through this course of Dominant 7ths, I took an excursion on the web looking for a lead sheet of Georgia On My Mind, one of my favorite pieces, and came across a video of Jonny May playing this music. His performance blew me away.. His playing was impressive and inspiring to say the least and it looked like he was having a lot of fun. He really tickled the ivories to submission and demonstrated the importance of mastering the fundamentals. Thank you Jonny for the encouragement and suggestion of what practice can lead to.
Diatonic 7th chords
Very good course, for which I have had to spend a lot of time mastering. Still not there speedwise but trying to improve. Thank you.
Well mediated learning activity
I will continue to practice this in order to commit to memory. This is an incredibly rewarding exercise.
Very challenging but very fundamental to just about everything basic to playing tunes and styles on the piano.
Everyone who reviews this course says about how challenging it is and they’re all right! But also how fundamental it is in playing the piano. It’s essential in getting familiar with music as it’s played and I’m gonna be here for months working on it to get up to speed and accuracy. And it’s excellent for building up physical strength and great exercise for arthritis. You can’t skip this one.
