Step by step… on the road to success!
Step by step!
I needed this workshop!
I needed to hear the helpful basic line-building help that Jonny provided in this great workshop! I also appreciated the questions because people asked many things I was wondering about. Thanks so much!! 5 stars for sure!
SHORT, SWEET AND EFFECTIVE
Another great course.
I love that Jonny tells a little about his background and transition from classical to jazz. I Also started out in the classical field and have been trying to play jazz style for a few years now. I found my solos always ended up sounding very ‘straight’ . They have improved so much using the techniques in this and many other courses from PWJ.
Jonny very wisely points out that you really do need to put the work in.
play scales etc in every possible combination, starting on every note, ascending and descending. For a while there I was wondering why I wasn’t progressing any further. Basically, I wasn’t putting the time in and when I did I was playing what I already knew.
This course has blown the cobwebs away (pardon the pun, this being the month of spookiness) and got me back on track. I played all of 10 solo lines and transposed them in my head to Bb which is a key I play in often. Playing the 2 scales with the system shown in this course has been so beneficial. It has given me some much needed motivation.
Also, the reminder of keeping the soloing ideas simple is a great point.
Great!
Cool course. Love when Jonny shows many concrete examples of how to get started soloing.
