G minor has a rich, soulful sound that works well for blues and funk. It’s closely related to Bb major, so many of the notes will already feel familiar. In this course, you’ll learn the G minor scale plus two variations that give minor music its unique flavor. You’ll practice each one with the right fingering for each hand, along with strategies for playing them smoothly and accurately.

Next, you’ll learn the 10 chords you’ll see most often in G minor, including how each one is built, so you understand them instead of just memorizing them. Then you’ll learn the most common chord progressions (chord patterns) in this key. To bring it all together, you’ll learn Flunkalicious, a super fun funky blues tune. You’ll learn the melody and chords, how to create the funk groove, and how to improvise your own ideas over the chords.

Once you’re comfortable, you’ll use inversions to make your chord changes sound smoother and apply them to Flunkalicious. Then you’ll play it along with a bass and drums backing track, so it feels like you’re playing in a funk band. Finally, you’ll learn simple ways to play chords for someone else to sing or play along to.

Sooper dooper course!
Both enjoyable and educational. Thanks!
Challenging
I like the fact that all of "Key of" course have a consistent approach. The performance piece of this one was promising as I love funk but unfortunately I did not get the clue to fell it.
Great course
I am really enjoying the course, it’s very comprehensive and pretty easy to follow. I wish I had more time to spend on it! A great course though. Thank you!
Very challenging.
Lessons move along nicely but takes more time and effort than I expected.
