Key of G is Great!
Terminology was super. Diatonic chords based on the scale and building chords on thirds. Memorizing chord numbers instead of letters seemed easier and it's a great suggestion. Adding little slides in the right hand to improvise with your melody. Jonny's lullaby is a great original. Played lots of simple chord progressions in different keys. Very good course.
Challening and Fun
Relearning the G scale was fun with Jonny. I enjoyed practicing the Diatonic chords and the simple chord progression. Learning how to play the lullaby was terrific. The inversions taught by Yannick was superb. I practiced these years ago, but with no feeling. Now, I am relearning them with ease because of the instructor's guidance and patience. Even though I am learning via video, I can sense both Jonny's and Yannick's desire to help me progress. I love their energy and encouragement!!!! Thanks guys! Good course!!
Bridging the gap...
One of the things that is hardest for an adult beginner is bridging the gap between the complex music that one can understand intellectually and the simple music that the fingers can physically master. These lessons, with a melody that is both simple and beautiful, have enough challenges to stimulate growth while keeping the motivation of learning a melody one can feel rewarded to learn to play.
Challenging
Learning a new key and a song applicable was fun. Playing accompaniment can be challenging but worth learning
