Fundamental and challenging
The course was very formative not only to better understand the theory, but also to refine the musical vocabulary with the infinite combinations of the notes in the chords. I am definitely more self-confident in recognizing the structure of each extension, and ready to play it.
Piano Chord Extensions
Excellent course.
I learned a lot.
Thank you.
Can't Wait to Try These Chords out on Some Lead Sheets!
There is a lot of content in this course, but it is really well organized, with similarly structured lessons, so the concepts can be assimilated more easily. Jonny's upbeat attitude and frequent insights and shortcuts also encourage me to keep at it!
Builds interval awareness
Before this course, I kind of knew some 9th chords, or rather they weren't hard to construct. Once I would encounter an 11th, #11th, 13th, or minor 6/9s however, my brain would tilt. I started this course so that I could play some jazz lead sheets I wanted to learn, and actually be aware of the chords I was playing, not just rely on memorization. Well this course is a gem of a method to build awareness and drill awareness of the aforementioned extensions and play them in several different voicings. Now when I see a chord extension, it's no longer a hieroglyphic, but a familiar thing that's not so scary. To really perfect this takes lots of reps and exposure to the myriad of voicings, but this is an excellent start to the journey.
Informative
This course as very informative. I need to spend more time to absorb the teaching but it was very helpful
