Most piano players think great solos are all about playing the right notes.
They’re not.
The real magic is in the “get to” notes—the little moves that make even a simple scale sound expressive, exciting, and… well… like you actually know what you’re doing.
In this week’s lesson, I’m sharing 5 “get to” techniques that instantly make your solos sound more musical.
You’ll learn:
🎹 The Bender for bluesy, vocal-style slides
🔥 The Blaze that makes your lines sound like they’re on fire
⚡ The Whip for adding a satisfying snap to your phrases
✈️ The Flyby that creates lightning-fast runs across the keyboard
💥 And the Bombshell—My favorite finishing move that sounds incredibly impressive but is surprisingly easy to play.
The best part?
You don’t need a new scale. You don’t need years of practice.
You’re just learning better ways to connect the notes you already know.
