How is a 14-year-old playing piano like this?
I came across Luka Sestak a while back and honestly, I had to watch it a few times.
He’s got these crazy boogie woogie chops, but what really caught my attention is how musical and rhythmic everything is. He’s not just playing a bunch of fast notes. He knows exactly when to hit, when to pull back, and how to make a lick really pop.
One of his videos has more than 11 million views, and in this lesson I’m breaking down 4 of the things that make Luka’s playing so fun to listen to.
We’ll look at:
- His infectious boogie bass line
- His classic right-hand riff
- The power roll that he uses to grab your attention
- And one seriously flashy breakout run
The funny thing is that these licks aren’t nearly as complicated as they sound.
Once you slow them down, you can actually see what’s going on.
The real challenge is getting the rhythm right.
