Welcome to “S’Wonderful” for the beginning level, as part of our new “Simple Songs” series where we focus less on the theory and more on learning the notes, fingering, and the arrangement.
This course is divided into 5 lessons, each consisting of a different part of the arrangement. Lesson 1 begins with the intro, and Lessons 2-4 teach the melody and chords of the body of the song. Lesson 5 ends with the full arrangement along with a backing track. You’re going to love this arrangement!

S'Wonderful Course!
I really loved this course. I love the old Jazz Swing and Jazz Ballad tunes that are a part of the Simple Song Series. I highly recommend this course for anyone that is a Jazz Beginner like myself that is working through the Foundational Courses and is able to actually master a Jazz Standard without a concentration on the Harmonic Analysis. Its just FUN to get started actually being able to play through a Jazz Standard at Beginner Level. These are "Simple" arrangements, but not so easy that they don't sound authentic. John's instruction is straightforward and easy to follow. Thanks again, PWJ! Loving this Series!!
Easy and fun to learn!
This is a fun song to add to a growing repertoire with the Simple Song series. John takes you through the step by step process of learning the song easily before having to understand much in the way of theory - a great confidence booster for a beginner. After learning a few of these songs, one comes to recognize the basic formula to apply to many other songs.
Perfect for all playing levels!
The Simple Song series makes building a classic jazz standard repertoire not just simple, but also easy. John Proulx's step by step layered approach allows for a fairly quick assimilation of the song's form, progression, fingering and rhythms. For example, the LH features the classic Charleston rhythm as wells a 2-feel. The RH features the melody with some one-note harmonies below. The song sounds great with or without the backing track so you can be ready to play it anywhere. Easy to google the clever lyrics and sing along.
