Eb Minor
Love the Latin Rhythm even if it is tricky. I appreciated the different tempos for the backing track. Starting at 100 and going to 120 - I can't quit do the 160. Also, memorizing the Monturo accompaniment was fun and I think this will be useful for future use.
Key of Eb minor
I've enjoyed and learned a lot from all the beginner courses. I thought I knew a lot because I am an intermediate player but found out I could learn a lot more by taking all the courses from the beginning. So glad I did. Thank you.
Challenging Song
The song chosen is a very challenging beat on top of learning the note structures but I suppose that is good and will get with practise
Way too fast and frustrating
I found some aspects of the Key of Eb minor course challenging. While I understand the value of reinforcing key concepts, the repetition of ideas, such as understanding a lead sheet, felt a bit redundant after having encountered them in previous courses. This could potentially be streamlined to better support students who are following each course sequentially.
Additionally, I found the pace of the song ‘Hasta La Vista’ quite fast for a foundational course, especially at a beginner level. I realize that there is a slower track, but even then it was too fast for me. Since I'm not particularly interested in this style, I didn't feel motivated to put too much effort into it.
That said, I was able to experiment with what was presented and get something out of the lesson, especially the chords and sequences. So, I’m not entirely dissatisfied. I just wonder if a bit of rethinking could make it easier for students to stay engaged and motivated throughout the course series.
Throughout all the scales a consistent method
Scale, chords, chord progressions, inversion and song application
