Fun! Exciting! Amazing!
This is the third course I've completed. It keeps getting better, and I'm gaining more skills as I progress. I can't say enough about how much I love this song, but I was initially worried because I'm a newbie. I kept at it, watching the videos and rewinding repeatedly. I've said this before, but my favorite thing about PWJ is how things are broken down into small pieces. The same is true for this course, and I had some breakthroughs in my ability to improvise and keep it going, which I've never been able to do until now. Another thing I love is that both teachers show you multiple variations and possibilities for how to play the song. I am coming away with more than I expected to learn, and PWJ has surpassed my expectations. I used the D major scale in my practice sessions to create melodies and rhythm patterns. I found myself playing with ideas and jamming out. One evening, I got so wrapped up in playing and having fun that three hours passed, and I didn't realize it was after midnight! The content and my consistent effort allowed me to rise to a new level. I am so excited about what I'm going to learn next!
Blue Moon Risin', I Got Dem Early "Sunrise Blues"
The Foundational Course just keep getting better from one key to the next! Thoroughly learned the Key of D and some great Blues Chops to with it! This Course was especially near and dear to my heart as I began my music journey playing Blues & Rock on the guitar many Blue Moons ago! To begin to be able to transfer my Blues skill set to the piano has been a special treat!! Most of my early Blues playing was by ear and so getting deeper into the theory was rewarding as well; learning the theory as to why I played what I heard. This has been a great course. I highly recommend it - especially to all you Blues Hungry Cats out there.....
The best!
That is the best course ever!!!
Loved the melody
This harder melody was easier for me. I think it was because it had enough variation that it stuck better in my brain😊
Mind Blown!
This was a great lesson! This is the second one of the beginning lessons the I've completed and I'm starting to see a lot of connections. I want to go through these following the "circle of fifths." I will have to work on the G Major lesson next, but I need to master these skills and post videos before I move on. Jonny and Yannick make the material very engaging and I really appreciate how they encourage improvisation and experimentation!
