Welcome to “Ain’t Misbehavin” for the beginning level, as part of our new “Simple Songs” series where we focus less on the theory and more on learning the notes, fingering, and the arrangement.

This course is divided into 5 lessons, each consisting of a different part of the arrangement. Lesson 1 begins with the intro, and Lessons 2-4 teach the melody and chords of the body of the song. Lesson 5 ends with the full arrangement along with a backing track. You’re going to love this arrangement!

Course Objectives
  • Learn a jazzy intro
  • Master the melody, chords, and fingering for both A and B sections
  • Wrap it up with a simple ending
  • Combine everything we've learned for a final arrangement
Learning Focus
  • Songs

Ain't Misbehavin', Just Havin' Fun!
I love John Proulx' laid back and patient approach; it goes a long way to take some of the tension out of learning the material and makes it fun! I am just now getting to the point that I can begin to play some of the Beginner Series Jazz Ballads. I understand most of the harmonic material, but my hands are still learning to play nice together! This Series is a great way for beginners like me to get the feel of left hand shell chords and syncopated rhythms. I feel like I'm playing "real" jazz but able to do so at my own speed and at my level of piano competency. Thanks again to all of the PWJ team!!
